juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron/Yellow Crowned

juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron/Yellow Crowned

Location: Earth » North America » United States » South Carolina » Beaufort County

Date: July 4, 0008

Here is a better picture of the bird I posted earlier. There may actually be two of them...I saw one fly over the marsh and then noticed this one at the edge of the lagoon. He seems to appear shortly before sundown. It was suggested that he may be a one year old Black Crowned Night Heron.

This Keeps Getting Better & Better
Now this looks like a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night-Heron.

I think you do have two birds. I can't see any of that fine speckling or streaking on your first two night-heron posts.
