Gilded Flickers live in close relationship with the saguaro cacti - their nesting caves are built into the cactus, who delivers a stable temperature during the scorching heat of the day and the cold desert nights, cactus flowers and later fruit provide food, and in return the woodpeckers pollinate the flowers.
