Cattle Egret

Cattle Egret

Location: Earth » Oceania » Australia » Queensland

Date: April 4, 2008

This is the reason they call them Cattle Egret.
They spend a lot of time hanging around cattle.
Locals thought they were after tics.
In fact they are after small morsels the cattle stir up out of the grass.
This particular Bird is just starting to develop the characteristic yellow head.
In the next Pic it is more clearly seen.

More Pic's ?
Hi Mike.
I have about 6 new birds to add.
But there seems to be a bit of a back log.
I don't want to over work you.

Please advice.

Hi Kell, I do have some catching up to do, but if you have new species, go ahead and post them. Try to keep it to one or two images per species. Thanks!
