Northern Bobwhite, female

Northern Bobwhite, female

Location: Earth » North America » United States » Texas » Williamson County

Date: January 10, 2006

Northern Bobwhites are year-round residents, under pressure from predators and habitat loss. Fire ants, feral cats, native predators (gray fox, coyote, rat snakes) all take a toll. Covey size and number of coveys has decreased in past 30 years, but with change in habitat management is beginning to show recovery. This covey has come to supplemental water and feed.
