Here is another shot to help with ID. ... For what it's worth the biologist from Sonora who was with us called them black vultures, though I agree: A definitive ID would be great! Also, I have a shot of a roost tree with about 11 individuals in/around it - all with the conspicuous black heads. I'll post that one too if you'd like.
