Not a Hairy
This is an image of a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. The throat-chin area plumage lacks red so this is a female. The picture even shows sapsucker wells lined-up on the tree trunk.

Hairy Woodpecker
After looking at several source pages like
http://www.schmoker.org/BirdPics/Woodpeckers.html and
http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/
I concur that my original take on this Woodpecker is incorrect.
Good eye David !
