Black-bellied Whistling Ducks

Black-bellied Whistling Ducks

Location: Earth » North America » United States » Maryland » Anne Arundel County

Date: June 25, 2007

A rare treat! These two ducks were at the rain water retention pond next to my office. I didn't know, initially, what they were so I hurried to the internet! Unfortunately, this was one of the few days I didn't have my camera with me and I had to borrow an old p&s from someone at the office (reason for pretty bad images). I reported the sighting to the Maryland Ornithological Society, and Mr. Phil Davis, and others, were able to make it over to verify.
Pretty ducks!
