diseased pygmy nuthatch

Location: Earth

Date: January 5, 2008

As with the other photo, there were at least three pygmy nuthatches at the feeder today that had a growth on or near their eye's/beaks. Anyone know what this might be?

I don't know how this one was able to fly and feed given the condition of its eyes...
