Wilson's Warbler on Migration

Wilson's Warbler on Migration

Location: Earth » North America » United States » Texas » Williamson County

Date: September 3, 2007

We get Wilson's Warblers in migration in the fall (occasionally in spring); last year they came to our artificial "spring" to drink and bathe, but this year, with abundant rain, there was still water in the intermittent creek, just drying up in early September. This individual drank and bathed in the same little creek where the Louisiana Waterthrush was foraging on the muddy bank. We have also seen Wilson's Warblers in the main creek woods, choosing a backwater area with very shallow, barely-moving water and good cover as their drinking/bathing spot.
