Missing tail?
What happened to his tail?

I
honestly did not notice the missing tail! I wonder if maybe it was a cat or other predator. One of the things I don't like about my neighborhood is the fact that people set their cats free to roam around.

Subadult
Mystery solved, I believe that the bird without tail is actually in a Sub-adult stage; tail to follow. See my comment for a similar situation here.
