Shiny Cowbird??

Date: April 15, 2009 This bird was walking on the lawn by a lagoon. In the sun he appears brownish, but in the shade he had a slight purplish cast. The best we can come up with is a shiny cowbird...but that is just an educated guess based on the books used. Any ideas? Thanks!

Female Brown-headed Cowbird?
Compare with image 6 at All About Birds and see what you think. The bill seems to be too thick for Shiny Cowbird.
