Blue Grosbeak?

Blue Grosbeak?
Earth » North America » United States » South Carolina » Beaufort County

Date: April 14, 2009 We spotted this bird in a wooded, wetland, nature preserve on a cloudy day. We think it is a Blue Grosbeak but it seems to lack the dark wing markings shown in the books. Any thoughts?

Blue Grosbeak
Well, I answered my own question. A very knowledgable local bird person identified this as a blue grosbeak. We even saw a second one while with him.
