BirdSite  a catalog of media for birds worldwide

Sometimes when I click add media file its comes up witha HTTP 500 server error and it says the website may be under maitenance.
I also find that laoding images is very slow.
Though both of these may be related to my internet connection!

You might want to resize your images before you upload them. Maybe make them only 1000 pixels at the most on a side. Right now the website only displays 600 pixels max to users, though it is nice to have a little bigger original stored in case we increase that size in the future.

I think the large file size, combined with my low-cost web host might explain those errors. Maybe someday we will find a kind soul to offer up university hardware and bandwidth like BugGuide. :)
